I am a college student and the Freshman 15 hit me hard and I've continued to gain weight for the past year. I am DESPERATE to lose weight before I graduate and start applying for jobs, so I began looking at recipes for healthy eating. I found this book and am truly in love. I have found a great way to eat more salads and low calorie foods and am already down 5 pounds since beginning. More than that, this book helps you with your lifestyle choices and keeps you focused on your goals. Another book that had also helped me on this weight loss endeavor is 50 Healthy Slow Cooker Recipes: 50 Simple and Healthy Recipes for Slow Cooked Meals. I am a Southern girl and grew up with my mom cooking in a slow cooker often, so it was nice to eat some of these comfort foods and still stay on track. And the best part is, when I come home from a busy day of class and work, dinner is already made! I would definitely recommend both of these books to those who are looking for weight loss that is healthy!
I just got this book and felt like something spicy, so chose #6 Indian Kachumber Salad. I picked up a few ingredients from the store and assembled it. I was a little concerned when the summary mentioned lemon juice and sugar, while the recipe states lime juice and has no sugar. I went with the recipe and used the lime. All I can say is...AMAZING! I have never had any salad recipe taste this phenomenal! I was going to make a main dish to go along with the salad, but I think I'll just eat more salad and skip the main dish. After tasting this recipe, I can't wait to try some others! Well worth the price!
I was waiting to write a review until I came up with a better name for the Pear, Watercress, Hazelnut, Beetroot, Dried Fig salad on page 98, salad #49 but I couldn't come up with one. Here's my best shot. Pear, Fig, Filbert, Beet, Watercress. In any event, it doesn't matter what you call it, it is delicious. Gabrielle says. "What you eat and how you move are 2 fields in which being mindful and present are vital", "I love that I help people do both!" We love that you help people do both as well. Thanks for 132 +. We'll never be without a recipe for a Cooked, Uncooked, Dairy, Vegan, salad, dressing or dip for any occasion for as long as we live!
This book is highly informative for how to make great tasting salads and dressings - with an almost endless variety of flavour-texture combinations. I first learned about 'super salads' from Gabrielle more than 5 years and although I had been a salad fan all of my fairly long life (so far), this new way of preparing salads was totally amazing to my tastebuds - initially I couldn't quite believe the difference that it made. I have been an advocate ever since - I was so pleased when she published a book on this topic. I would also recommend Gabrielle's Green Smoothie Magic as a great partner to this book.
Excellent primer.I love salads, but I need some help to get away from the lettuce/tomato/carrots/cheese rut.This book opened my eyes and imagination.Well written, well edited and a great setup.I love the way certain recipes are given with the salad "recipes," but then are recapped at the end.Written by a vegetarian/almost vegan, but it is not preachy. "Flesh" food is even mentioned a time or two.Will look for others by this author.I think this was an Amazon freebie for me.
all photos, the whole book is black and white print. That's ridiculous for a recipe book ... hard to get excited about a salad in black and white ... Wish I didn't buy it for that reason alone.

The recipes and suggestions are diverse and easy to follow. I’ve been cooking for about sixty years and found lots of interesting, new ideas in this book. This book was a free Amazon download.
I am a 51 year old female who is prediabetic and need to eat more healthy. This book is salad magic. Gabrielle includes great tips and information. The recipes are simple and can be customized with the variations and options suggested as well as recommended salad dressings to make, included in the book. I can now take the boring salads that I make and turn them into healthy meals. This book as well as Gabrielle's Green Smoothie Magic book has given me the knowledge and inspiration to eat healthier and improve my health.
