This got 3 stars because it's better than Jade's Kickass Cats book which I really don't like. The elephants are cuter, better variety of poses but still some duplicates which I consider a rip-off in a coloring book. This book is more for people who want a bunch of spaces to color or love elephants specifically. This is a gift for a friend, will post her opinion when I get feed back. Far better animal coloring books available: Doodle Animals, Intricate Animals, Dover or Creative Haven choices.

This coloring book is up to the same standards I have come to know and love from all of the books I have ordered by Jade Summer. It is a full sized coloring book with extremely intricate patterns to color. All of these pictures are of elephants, as the title indicates, but they are not all full pictures. Many are very close up pictures, which are very interesting. It gives the book a great deal of variety, while still sticking with the elephant theme. The details are mind blowing. You will need a steady hand and good eyes for these patterns. I love just looking at the details in the pictures.I did take advantage of requesting the PDF download link and printing off some pages before I ordered the book. I like to do that, to be sure I like the pages before I get the book. I like the book, to keep things orderly, and I love the way the back of every page is solid black, to prevent colors from bleeding through. I also like having the loose pages that I print myself so that I can make more copies of the pages I like the most and to have some on hand for when the grand-children want to color. I might also point out that I like to keep an eye out for new editions by Jade Summer because they always offer a low introductory price when they come out with a new book. They are my favorite of all of my adult coloring books.

The art work in this book is beautiful!!! I really fell in love with this book but I do have a big issue. This is not the first book I have bought by Jade Summer but I do think it will be the last. While it has wonderful art work it is printed on cheap paper much like the kind that they print children's coloring books. Now here is the thing...there are so many books on the market so why settle for this paper issue? I think what I will end up doing is copying each page to a better paper on my printer and then toss the original. I think I was being a bit generous with the 3 stars but as I said the art work is really beautiful and something that may be a plus for someone else is there is 2 copies of each page without making the book any shorter. Just half the book is a full sized book. Maybe the publisher should consider only one copy of each and better paper instead? Or who knows maybe they have enough customers that settle for the cheap paper without complaint but unfortunately in the future I will not be one of them.

My favorite animal – elephants. My favorite thing to color – mandalas. So this book is like my mecca. It is actually my favorite non-sweary coloring book.Every image is beautifully done and intricate. There are hours of entertainment with this book. The thick white border around the images means once I’m done coloring a page, I can frame them and put them on the wall.I really wish there was a midnight edition of this. I love how colors pop against a black background.I received the PDF of this book. Despite that, I loved it so much that as soon as I saw all of the images I immediately purchased a hardcopy.I myself rely heavily on reviews when it comes to deciding whether or not I’m going to purchase something, so my reviews are completely honest. First of all, my favorite elephants are so detailed that it sparks my creativity. There are elephants to color for various skill levels.Second, each page is black on the back. That way you don't have to worry about the ink showing the design on the next page.Recommended to all elephant enthusiasts.

I hate to write bad reviews. When I first got this color book I thought this is very elaborate and will be a challenge. By the time I finished my third elephant I thought how boring and tedious. To say these prints are redundant is being to kind. There is no imagination put into these whatsoever. And you can forget about trying to use Derwent for that water color effect. The black will bleed through and ruin the picture. Lighter colored gel pens are also affected. It looks as though all her books are done that way. If you feel that you just have to have one of this brand my suggestion would be to cut it out and make a copy first. of course that does nothing for the boredom, that can only cured by the circular file.

Just love it and really like that the back of each design has a black backing so colors won’t bleed through. I usually use an exacto knife to cut out pages so that I can clip them to my art board while I color. Much easier to do than to leave it in the book plus it protects the other design!

As an avid colorist, I SO appreciate this coloring book.The pages are gorgeous, yes but what truly makes it great are these two things:1) The coloring pages are not double-sided, so if you use stronger art mediums, it will not bleed into another picture, and even if it does, the back sides are (ingeniously) BLACK so it is practically impossible to see.2) Not to spoil the surprise, but buying this book also grants you access to a digital copy, which delighted me as I can't get enough of my favorite pages!There are a couple of elephant coloring books available, but choose this one. I'm so glad I did!

I adore this book and have spent many hours coloring in it. Each image has lots of lovely, detailed patterns to color. This book is great for an intermediate or advanced colorist, or beginners who enjoy the minute details. I highly recommend this one because the images are amazing!
