Beautiful book, with one major error. This iconic photo should never have been placed in the fold.
Photos look awful. I was so looking forward to this, the photos show every blemish, every flaw. And the best one is in the middle, two full pages with a crease in the center and the pages do not match up.
I am most disappointed that the photos used for double page spreads are centered in the gutter!
Some of the best photographs in this major book are single shots spread across two pages leaving them diminished at best. A nice collection but I was hoping for something a bit more transcendent, as Seef's work with Joni has often been.
This book is filled mostly with many angles of the same photo -- a contact sheet made large. Mostly photos that we have seen on album covers it gives no insider view of Joni or a different, unexpected or surprising image. The text is all about the photographer. Definitely not worth the money for oversized photos of Joni in close-up at slightly different poses.Boring even for this long-time Joni fan.
First of I love joni mitchell. Now the book was bit of a disappointment because i have seen all these photos before, nothing new. I don't like all grainy messy looking photos, some are ok, but to many. Nothing i want to rip out of the to book frame.
This is a beautifully executed coffee table book. Filled to the brim with photos from periods in her career, mostly never before seen. I bought four copies, one to give myself and three as gifts, whose recipients are truly grateful! As long time fans from the beginning to present it’s a must have!
