As a veteran elective teacher, I delved into this book thinking its methodologies would apply more to the elementary or core teacher who is dead set on assigning homework because "that's the way it's always been done." To be frankly real, I was hoping to pick up the snippets that Ms. Keeler is known for so that I could share them with my elementary age daughter's teachers (who were dead set on assigning homework because "that's the way it's always been done").I could not have been more wrong. This book has changed the way I teach, and my students and I are better for it. We've flipped the classroom and I'm never going back. Kudos to the authors for championing an education revolution.

Love the ideas and the e-book embedded google forms; really interesting ideas which helped teachers in my school discuss the purpose of homework and prompted needed professional conversations.

Ditch That Homework continues the trend by publisher Dave Burgess Consulting of providing books to educators that are timely, useful and chock full of ideas and resources. This book is full of great ideas, resources, access to research on the efficacy of homework and so much more. Personally I love books that gives me those kinds of things that make implementation in a classroom or school quick and easy. This book does all that.The title of the book is almost misleading. What this book does is provide modern teaching strategies and pedagogy that are designed to make homework almost unnecessary. As a teacher, you're not necessarily "ditching homework" so much as you are using class time more effectively. Matt Miller and Alice Keeler fill the book with great ideas and teaching methods from their own experiences in the classroom and not untested theory. This should be a must read whether you are an administrator, lead teacher or classroom teacher in grades K-12.

This book has changed the way I look at how I run my classroom. It was full of ideas and alternatives to homework assignments. It was extremely easy to read and incorporate. I would recommend it to any teacher - veteran or new!

Very useful and easy read. The ideas are great for any educator to use and discuss with fellow educators and parents.

I have gotten a lot of ideas. This book as opened up questions to be answered and changes that can easily be made. I encourage all teachers to read this.
